Begin Where You Are...

My decision to focus on something meaningful this summer and then write about the process has been inspired by many things, including blogs like The Happiness Project, Momentum GatheringMeaningful Summer, and The Young and the Restless, my own personal reflections, and numerous conversations I've had with people I value in my life.

I have to admit, though, that even though I've been excited about the THOUGHT of this project, I've become paralzyed about actually DOING something to start it. The irony of this isn't lost on me - here I am wanting to focus on being happier and healthier, and yet my procrastination and tendency towards perfectionism are two things that not only deter from my health and happiness on a regular basis, but also have been preventing me from starting this project where happiness and health are supposed to be the focus.

That's when I realized I just really needed to get this project off the ground. Today.

So here I am, without much of a plan, but with the belief that when I consciously reflect upon and write about the choices I make as they relate to my health and happiness, I tend to be healthier and happier.

And I'm beginning right where I am - excited about the journey and what I'll learn along the way.
